winter haiku

i.

a dead bird, fallen
frozen in the pile of snow -
the sunlight is cold

ii.

white flakes soar about -
a squirrel searches the snow
for hidden walnuts

iii.

a blaze of ice roars
through a row of barren trees -
skeletons' galore

iv.

a drip, another
ice melts drop by drop by drop
a puddle awaits

Pedro part two is on the way -

You've captured several aspects of winter in these. I especially like "ice melts drop by drop by drop," but to tell you the truth, I'm a little tired of winter!

h Karen,
'm glad you liked my visions.
althought i admit #1 was a mere fantasy :)) (except for the cold sunlight, which we have some now over here)
tired of winter? - i hear you!!
it's interesting though that i like the neatness, the clean order of it.

These are great haikus. Except for the first one, these are all scenes that are familiar to me. You've captured them beautifully.
We're at no. 4 right now; I hope it's a sign of an earlier spring...

thanks Vesper
the first one was just in my mind, i hope that background fact still makes it a haiku.
