Seven brothers

There were seven of them
Seven brothers, coming one after another
They would come and go

Pearls on a chain
The upcoming pale stream of the morning light
Mirrors of a sequence
Fallen on the floor, dispersed in disorder

A silk floating across and out into ripples of grass

Those seven came and stepped onto sand
They let them fall on their knees and see
Dewdrops rolling with the
Skies above
Panting depth and heat
And the waves melt into one single will
Below and far away

They were lost for the day
And so they stayed watching
Beholder decomposed slowly turning into
The power withheld, giving in

The seven churned foams and became one
Sweep over reefs

Beads of silver
Light
Pain

Constant pain

The seven are one
Constant pain

They keep watching as one
Single wave of
Do not say
Wash yourself away
Do not remember
Melt into the waves
Do not dream of
One constant pain

How would you?

They are coming one after another
In waves
In one constant wave of -

Szelsofa, I'm reading, and re-reading, though I'm not quite sure what to make of these thoughts of yours...
Some powerful images here, and these seven brothers are quite scary... Does pain come as seven brothers?... I hope not, I hope it goes away with the tide...

I'm lost, but poetry is always lost on me. Sorry about that.

Just checking in on you.

Vesper,

I'm glad you tried. In fact this piece is quite experimental. I had this vision of the seven brothers (which, in some ways reflects a Hungarian legend, not very much unlike this, of nine brothers), and I wished to turn the vision to illustrate my feelings.
Pain does not equal the brothers, if that is of some reassurance to you...
Thanks again!

Beth,

I'm here. Not really much allright, but well, I'm trying.

i thought the imagery was great here as well, though i didn't completely understand everything much like vesper said. good effort.

I agree, Paul. It's confusing. And so am I...
This writing is quite reflective.
I am unsure as to be glad about how clearly the writing mirrors my own feelings or to be sad about what it shows...

I felt it was about a group of 7 children who were playing and became one ball of energy.

I hate it when that happens...

Sounds like they need to be separated. :)

I hope you find the answers you are looking for.

Interesting poem. I like the imagery. I thought I knew where you were going - I thought there was an allegory in here. But then the part below:

"They keep watching as one
Single wave of
Do not say
Wash yourself away
Do not remember
Melt into the waves
Do not dream of
One constant pain"

Completely lost me. I do not know what was meant by this and I am left scratching my head wondering if perhaps the seven were not actually people but were they waves or emotions. I'm not sure. But for some reason, I love that last paragraph where you end with just a dash. Something very jarring about it - I liked it.

Christine,

that is one potential view of the situation. A truly interesting take!

Aine,

you must be reading my mind. Amazing.

Ello,

I'm glad you also coped with it, despite all the clumsiness and incoherence...
The dash? oh yes.
They are powerful (when not overused)

Thank you all again!
